  SaraliVarishai  Purandara Dasa has constituted certain typical kind of exercises for the introductory level of learners in the Carnatic Music, which is indispensable for vocal as well as instrumental music learners such as veena, violin, flute etc. These exercises are followed by teachers even today without any change, which shows its importance in the field of learning.  It is said that Purandara Dasa himself postulated these exercises which are normally practiced in the raga Mayamalava Gowla. Mysore Maharaja's Contribution to Carnatic Music.

  JAYACHAMARAJA WODEYAR or MYSORE MAHARAJA (1919 - 1974 A.D) was the 25 th the Wodeyar Dynasty , who ruled the Kingdom of Mysore. He was born on 18 July 1919 to Yuvaraja Kanthirava Narasimharaja Wodeyar, and Kempe Cheluvajjammanni . He was brought up under the personal supervision of his uncle, Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wodeyar. He studied at the Royal School and later he graduated from the Maharaja's College, Mysore, with distinction, securing several Gold Medals. Jayachamaraja Wodeyar studied Philosophy, Metaphysics, and Mimamsa. His knowledge was very vast and he was author of many classical works like " Dattatreya – the way and the goal ", " Gita and the Indian Culture ", " Dharma Mattu Manava ", and so on.
